Author Visits

Author visits are a fun and engaging way for children to connect with writers and learn first-hand about books and the stories behind them. I love talking to kids about the writing process, my journey to becoming an author, and the inspiration behind my stories. I offer the below packages but can totally tweak my presentation to cater to your needs. My charges would vary depending on factors such as audience size, duration, package, etc. but I am happy to work within your budget. Though I’m only able to travel to schools located in the San Francisco Bay Area, I’d love to do virtual school visits as well.

  • Grades 3-8: An interactive session on the process of releasing a picture book – from concept through writing, all the way to pitching and publishing. We will wrap up with a Q&A session.
  • Grades 3-8: An interactive session covering the elements of a picture book such as hook, plot, setting, character arc, story arc, ending, etc. using Ganesha Goes Green and Navya Sings for Navarathri for critical analysis. We will wrap up with a Q&A session.
  • Grades 3-8: Ganesha Goes Green: The Journey – I share the inspiration behind my book, discuss how the festival is celebrated in different parts of India, and how the book came to be. We will wrap up with a Q&A session.
  • Grades 3-8: Navya Sings for Navarathri: The Journey – I share the inspiration behind my book, discuss how the festival is celebrated in different parts of India, and how the book came to be. We will wrap up with a Q&A session.
  • Grades K-2: Discuss the setting and theme of the story, followed by a read-aloud and Q&A, closing with a discussion on characters’ feelings from the book. Kids get to take home, a free activity sheet.
